Welcome all to our classroom page… NGA KAAHURANGI
I just want to thank you for allowing your child to educated here at Kelston Intermediate for 2018. I really hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Waitangi weekend celebration and you are ready to rock this year.
This term i will be on ajourney with your tamaiti (child) to learn about who they are. I want to know what makes them tick, what interests them, their strengths and weaknesses, their favourite food and what they love to learn socially, academically and culturally. So if your tamiati comes home asking about where they come from or who their ancestors are, or translate words, please just do as best as you can.
Maths this term is all about addition, subtraction and measurement mahi (work). We will be looking at how we can use numbers when adding and subtracting, learning various ways of figuring out problems, measuring all areas, volumes, lengths etc on/in random objects/times/distances/situations
Inquiry is where we ask questions about a certain topic and discover our own answer, then display this learning to our whaanau, school and community.
Literacy for this term is about learning the basics of writing genres, reading strategies, oral and listening skills. We are looking at consolidating these so we can develop these even further…
We have a team camp happening in T3
Please ensure your child has all their stationary and uniform so that they can participate like a true Kelstonian in all learning.
They have lunch everyday otherwise let me know and we can sort something out.
I have a kitchen in our class that is available fo your children to use.
WEEK 5 we have WHANAU DAY…
Sports are starting soon, so please keep up to date through looking at our newsletters and websites.
Please our doors are always open, if you have any queries come in and see us.
