This is week 3 of Design Tech and specialist classes.
Our INQUIRY this term has been determined by the heart to orientate our students with our school values, the Taumata and our Kerehana community. Each class is working toward designing and creating a unique glass Taonga that will be both gifted to the wider community and displayed in our kura. The students have brainstormed the concept of a Taonga in their own context. Collectively we have decided that people, land , faith, resources, traditions, memories, tangible items, knowledge, cultural practises, values, good health, and whanau are precious treasures. So from this we are translating concepts into simple graphics which will be refined and in turn glass sculptures will be cast.
The artist we will look at this term is Jenny McCleod a local Glass Sculpture.
