Week 2 in Mauria

Another great week in our classroom in Room 5.  We’ve had another busy week settling into our routines and attending exciting subjects such as Techonology and Kiwican.  We are still getting to know each other, who we are, where we come from, our cultural and family values, what our hobbies and interests are, just to name a few.  We are learning about how Kelston is unique and what makes our suburb such an amazing one.  We are currently discussing the Treaty of Waitangi, Te Tiriti O Waitangi, what Aotearoa was like in pre-European times and what the treaty was and why it was required.  We are begining to understand the partnership between Maori and Pakeha and how this evolved.
